Please contact us regarding any questions. All supplemental plan enrollments must be in before December 5, 2011 for a January 1 effective date or January 5 for a February 1, 2012 effective date. Open enrollment only takes place on these dates each year unless you are new union member. State law prevails on changes to individual plans and open enrollment is typically in November of each year for January 1. Enrollment into other types of plans is allowed all year round.     

For professors living in NJ, paying 100% of the cost on the Horizon NJ Direct 15 Health Plan, we have created this low cost comprehensive health program that can save you as much as 72% versus the state plan with slight change in benefits. A supplemental fully insured indemnity plan works in combination with a Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield Individual plan to offer rich benefits and substantial savings. This is a voluntary option that is offered on a guaranteed issue basis. All pre-existing conditions will be covered by the supplemental plan options if you enroll during open enrollment. The individual health plan will also cover all pre-existing conditions based on having previous coverage and meeting the requirements of the NJ individual reform law.
